Even though Andy Ricker of Pok Pok fame claims this, and provides the following recipe, we am reclaiming as as masala cocktail.
Ingredients
- ½ ounce tamarind concentrate or ½ ounce liquefied tamarind pulp (1:4 tamarind pulp blended with water)
- 1½ ounces bourbon
- 1 ounce fresh lime juice
- 1 ounce palm sugar simple syrup (1:1 palm sugar to hot water)
- Orange slice, for garnishing
- Amarena cherry, for garnishing
Directions
To a cocktail shaker, add the tamarind concentrate, bourbon, lime juice and palm sugar simple syrup. Cover and shake well to combine. Strain the cocktail over ice and into an Old Fashioned glass. Garnish with the orange slice and cherry.
